The German audience will have to do without one of their local heroes at the FEI World Cup™ Qualifier in Leipzig. Daniel Deußer (GER) decided not to compete at all since his top mount Cornet d’Amour suffered an injury and is not fit yet.
“I do have a good string of horses but the question is whether or not I would stand a chance in Leipzig. The top riders and horses are really close together so one should not think something is possible when it’s not.”, so Deußer about his decision not to start in Leipzig.
Cornet d’Amour, a twelve year-old Cornet Obolensky x Damiani offspring, suffered a minor injury in during a show in Genf. Daniel Deußer started riding the grey at home already but since he did not do any jumps since the injury he did not want to compete him yet.
