Werth and Weihegold triumph in Neumünster
Press release VR Classics – The Grand Prix Freestyle – presented by the VR Bank Neumünster and the Bausparkasse Schwäbisch-Hall – the Reem Acra FEI World Cup Dressage in Neumünster’s Holstenhallen, was won by Isabell Werth (Rheinberg) with a fabulous 84.60 percent. The record winner of the Neumünster World Cup Freestyle also secured the top spot in the current Reem Acra FEI World Cup Dressage standings, now holding an impressive 77 points.
The spectators in the packed out hall raised the roof for the winner, as well as for Jessica von Bredow-Werndl (Aubenhausen) and her Dutch stallion Unee BB, who came second. Third place went to Dutch rider Adelinde Cornelissen and her 19 year old horse Jerich Parzival, just as on the previous day.
Neumünster thunders
In the positively electric atmosphere of the packed-out Holstenhallen, the spectators celebrated each individual pair, demonstrating their delight in good riding and excellent horses. “That’s really something almost unique to Neumünster“, laughed Ghislain Fouarge, Head Judge for the Grand Prix Freestyle, “but it’s really lovely, as you can sense just how passionate the spectators are about riders and horses. They are really knowledgable.”
Top score for “W & W“
Isabell Werth achieved yet another progression with eleven-year-old Weihegold OLD and was satisfied – completely satisfied? “There may still be one or two details we could improve on but in any case, we are well prepared for whatever lies ahead.” Now her colleague Beatrice Buchwald will be climbing into the saddle of the elegant black mare, just as had been planned. “With Emilio and Don Johnson, I’ve got really good horses at my disposal.”
Top-Team Jessica and Unee BB
Jessica von Bredow-Werndl secured second place in the current World Cup standings with Unee and was absolutely delighted with the rapturous applause of the audience. “Today he was almost a bit shy in front of this crowd. That’s really unusual. But then in the presentation ceremony he suddenly noticed that Weihegold was a mare and then he was very excited,” revealed the smart blonde with a wink.
The presentation ceremony also contained a surprise for Adelinde Cornelissen: Jerich Parzival suddenly jumped to one side and sent Tournament Director Paul Schockemöhle into the sand. He took it with good grace, brushed the sand from his suit, and had a good laugh at the whole thing.
