Vincent Voorn and Bertram Allen were the winners of the 7YR Class
Press release Sunshine Tour – The Dutch rider Vincent Voorn riding Ellavar X was the winner of one section of the 7yr old Young Horse Class today at the Sunshine Tour with Bertram Allen riding Christy JNR winning the other section, they both stopped the clock at 32.06sec! Maarten Driessen from Belgium riding Esprit and the Spanish rider Manuel Fernández Saro riding Quainton Calgary were 2nd in their respective groups and the British rider Kerry Grimster with Moonlight VI and her compatriot Max Routledge riding Chanel IV took 3rd. These were the fastest rounds of the 155 horses in the class with 69 horses in having clear rounds.
The Spanish rider Kevin González de Zárate took first place in the 6yr old class today. on Calipso Van de Bergddalhoeve Z completing his round in 32.57sec. The British rider Chloe Aston with Kandahar won the other section of the class in 31.60sec. Tara McDonald with Fygo Von D’Ouwe Grint and Bertram Allen with Fairytale 86 were in 2nd place respectively and the Belgian riders Boy-Adrian Van Gelderen with Fencis and Maarten Driessen with Fernando Blue took 3rd place in each section. There were 165 horses in this class and 92 jumped clear rounds.
In the 5yr olds a Spanish rider was also on the podium, Ari González Barros riding Gismo de Pravia stopped the clock at 37.40sec, taking one of the 1st places whilst the British rider Pippa Goddard riding Chellimo, was 1sec faster in her section. The British riders Louis Simmons riding Giulietta and Remy Ellis with Guadelupe were 2nd in their sections of the class, with Jude Burgess riding Quite Feeling and Alice Palmer riding Catoky taking 3rd. There were 106 competitors in the class with 47 clear rounds that will be added to the tally for the Final.
Tomorrow at 9.00 hr we carry on with the Young Horse classes (5, 6 and 7yr olds) and these will end at about 18.00 hr. At 15.00 the first Big Tour GP of this week will take place, this is the first qualifying class for Sunday’s Longines Ranking GP for which only 70 of the top riders will be eligible.
