The afternoon Big GP, sponsored by La Lorenzana Butter, was the highlight of the whole week. The Spanish Olympic rider Manuel Fernández Saro riding Eliot, took first place in this FEI ranking class, with a field of 50 riders. In second place was the French rider Bernard Briand riding Qadillac Du Heup and in third was the British rider Lance Whitehouse with his mount, Vik II. The prize money for this class was 40,000 euros.

In the winner’s interview, Manuel Fernández Saro told us that he is really delighted with Eliot, who is now owned by José Larocca. He told us that they had decided to compete here at the Sunshine Tour to fully realise the potential of the horse and so far things were going very well. Manuel went on to tell us that Eliot is the best horse he has ever had the opportunity to jump and that he is delighted with the great quality of all of horses he now has in his stables. We wish him many more victories as the Tour progresses and over the coming season.
