The New Zealand rider Samantha McIntosh wins the small GP riding Estina
Press release Sunshine Tour – The Italian rider Luce Moneta riding Salomon took 2nd place with Matthew Sampson riding Cecilia in 3rd.
After an exciting jump off with 14 competitors the New Zealand rider Samantha Mcintosh riding Estina took 1st place in a time of 42.96sec. The Italian rider Luca Moneta was once again on the podium after winning the Big GP yesterday, today taking 2nd place with Salomon in 43.17sec with the British rider Matthew Sampson riding Cecilia taking 3rd in 43.86sec.
The British rider Joe Whitaker was the winner of Big Tour B today, riding Ximena, folllowed by fellow Brit, Jude Burgess with Severly Hille and the Czech rider Emma Augier de Moussac with Diva. The Belgian rider Jerome Guery with Curby du Seigneur won the A2 class; whilst the Brits, Jude Burgess on Carvelo Z and Joe Whitaker on Lavarno, took the other spots on the podium in 2nd and 3rd places respectively. The Brits were also on the podium in the A1 class with Tim Page riding Duc D’Arsouilles in 1st, Louise Whitaker riding Cleopatra in 2nd and Mark Armstrong riding Balougio III in 3rd.
In the amateur classes the Classic Tour D the David Broome arena, 3, was won by the Italian Filippo Tabarini with Gipsy of Heritage in a very fast time of 32.00sec. The British rider Kayleigh Watts with Charmeur was 2nd in 33.34sec and the Irish rider Derek McCoppin riding Billy Diamond was 3rd in 34.46sec.
Kayleigh Watts also took 1st place in the C class with Eburon Van T’Nachteg, the Italian Lorenzo Bertoloucci was 2nd, riding Sasha dei Basini and the British rider Kerstin Deakin with Sunsolde was 3rd.
The Spanish rider Ari González won the Classic Tour B riding O Rey de Pravia, in 36.17sec. The British rider Eleanor Jane Hall Mcateer was 2nd with Dazzle and the Chinese rider Yunyun Wang with Meddalist was 3rd.
In the Classic Tour A, the British rider Charlotte Horme riding Tinkas Gift took 1st place, 2nd was Hall Mcateer with Blush and 3rd was Shiekh Samir Mirdad with Mirdads Baaab Al Ray.
Tomorrow is the climax of this week of jumping at Dehesa Montenmedio with 10 classes being run, not the least the Big GP FEI Longines Ranking class sponsored by Tío Pepe, with prize money of 40.000 euros. The best 60 riders of this week will take part in this class. Once again there was more than 150,000 euros in prize money to be won over the course of the weekend completing the 2nd week of the Sunshine Tour in which overall will be more than a million euros in prize money to be won.
