Press release | Showjumping – The second day was again marked by thrills, between the daring of the riders on the course and the glorious victory of France’s Kevin Staut for the fastest round in the famous Longines Speed Challenge. This unique competition captivated the Parisian public who continued the evening with the vibrant after-party, entertained by the young Belgian singer Alice On The Roof.
Spectators at the Longines Masters of Paris were still pouring in on Friday, especially during the evening session, to attend the crowd favorite event, the Longines Speed Challenge. In the intimate atmosphere of the Prestige Village the world’s best riders strolled among the public, and fans even had the chance to meet the Olympic Gold Medal Team: Pénéloppe Leprévost, Roger-Yves Bost, Philippe Rozier and the star of the day Kevin Staut !
Courage and skill defined the winners of the day’s events, and those who won the 2* competitions gained valuable experience towards the dream of competing in the same arena one day in the 5* grand prix. Friday’s winners were: Institut Esthederm Trophy won by Paloma de Crozals cheered on by uncle Guillaume Canet, Free Lance Trophy won by Christophe de Brabander, Direct Matin Trophy won by Olivier Guillon, Miasuki Trophy won by Zoe Conter, and Laiterie de Montaigu Trophy won by Lorenzo de Luca.
The world speed championship on three continents, the Longines Speed Challenge, the flagship event of the evening, kept the international audience on the edge of their seats and electrified the energy in the stands. The very innovative course design of Maestro Uliano Vezzani, the designer of this second season, made the challenge even more exciting. This course, inaugurated in Los Angeles last October, with an enclosure of five jumps arranged in an octagon in the center of the arena, has caused more than one to struggle but the best managed to emerge unscathed with Kevin Staut awarded the special Orlinski Trophy designed by French artist Richard Orlinski and also presented with a special Longines watch.
After the competition, the Prestige Village offered up an electrifying after-party, very popular with the public elated by the Longines Speed Challenge, which transformed into a giant nightclub. EEM invited singer Alice On The Roof, the 20-year-old musical phenomenon, well known in Belgium for her single „Easy Come, Easy Go“ to an exciting atmosphere worthy of the biggest festivals. Alice on the Roof enjoyed the special evening: „It was a great honor and a wonderful opportunity to meet a new Parisian audience. I am so pleased that music is an integral part of this wonderful event. The atmosphere was really fantastic!” The singer enchanted the audience who continued the party with the performance of DJ Nasty Nas, resident of the VIP ROOM PARIS!
Highlights for the upcoming weekend: Pro-Am for Charity presented by Hyatt raising money for charity with specially costumed riders and celebrities, The Gold Cup presented by the Paris Horse Show and CENECA, and of course the crowning event of this weekend in Paris, the Longines Grand Prix on Sunday afternoon.
