Scott Brash still on top – who climbs and who falls
It seems that Scott Brash (GBR) just doesn’t want to leave the pole-position of the FEI Longines Ranking. The exceptional sportsman stays the worlds best showjumping rider for another month, because he’s leading the Longines Ranking with 2898 points while having only 75 results. The reason for that great success is his incredible performance over the last weeks and months. The British professional won for example the Grand Prix of the LGCT of Cascais (POR) with Hello Sanctos and the Grand Prix of the LGCT of Monte Carlo with Hello M’Lady.
Although there is no change on top of the Longines Ranking, there are some big moves in the Top-Ten: the biggest jump in the top group obviously made Beezie Madden (USA), because she managed to go from rank eight to rank two. Olympic champion Steve Guerdat (SUI) could defend his place and stays another month on rank three. On rank four we find the long haunter of Scott Brash: Stephex Stables rider Daniel Deusser (GER) loses two places and falls back to rank four. Slowly but with consistency the Irish child genius Bertram Allen climbs up the Longines Ranking: from rank seven he goes up to rank five – thanks to numerous wins (Grand Prix CSI5* Dinard, Grand Prix CSI5* Paris) and international top-placings.
The Top-Ten is completed by Mclain Ward (USA), Ludger Beerbaum (GER), Kent Farrington (USA), Rolf-Göran Bengtsson (SWE) and Maikel van der Vleuten (NED).
Out of the Top-Ten the leading lady rider of France, Penelope Leprevost, jumps from rank 21 last month, to rank twelve this month. Thanks to his good results, the lightning-swift Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA) wins nine places and is now on rank 30. Another big jump makes Todd Minikus (USA): he is also getting really close to the best 30 riders and stops this month at rank 37 – he won 17 places.
There are also many changes in the Top-100: the likable Janika Sprunger (SUI) climbs up 30 places and is now on rank 51. The perhaps biggest jump did Jerome Guery: the belgian rider, who is seemingly in the form of his career, flies over 65 (!!) places and is now to find on rank 54. Paul Estermann (SUI) improves from rank 115 to rank 71, and Jack Towell (USA) from rank 148 to rank 77. Aachen winner Janne Friederike Meyer from Hamburg was rewarded with rank 96 for her clear rounds in the last FEI Nations Cups – that means she is 36 places better than she was last month.
