Preparations Begin for New England’s Premier Shows

For 30 years, Fieldstone Show Park has stood as New England’s principal horse show venue, employing the finest terrain New England has to offer with all-weather draining base arenas with GGT Geo-Textile footing to create an environment conducive to top-tier equestrian competition. One hundred and six acres of arenas and beautiful grass fields make Fieldstone a truly world-class facility, and a perfect host for the summer’s events, culminating with the Fieldstone Summer Showcase. Kicking off the hospitality at the summer showcase is the CMJ Sporthorse Exhibitor Party barbecue on Wednesday, August 19 in the Grand Prix tent.
Following the Silver Oak Jumper Tournament’s $75,000 Grand Prix on Sunday, August 16, The Fieldstone Summer Showcase features the $50,000 Fieldstone Show Park Grand Prix on Thursday, August 20. Both events see internationally ranked elite professionals and amateurs alike setting their sights on the lion’s share of the big money purse. The grand prix event will take place at 3 p.m., after the $7,500 Jumper Derby Stake. The Showcase kicks off on Tuesday, August 18 with the $10,000 Boston Welcome Stake, $7,500 CMJ Sporthorse Cup, as well as the $7,500 Fieldstone Show Park Mini Prix and NEHJA Open Jumper Championships on August 19.
Hunter riders will also have their opportunity to steal the show with over $100,000 in hunter prize money with feature classes held in the Grand Prix Field such as; NEHJA 3’3″ Open Hunter Derby Finals, NEHJA 2’9″ Open Hunter Derby Finals and the NEHJA Child/Adult Hunter Derby Finals. Pony riders also get to showcase their talents in the Grand Prix Field in the NEHJA Pony Hunter Derby Finals, one of few pony derbies in the country. The derby events see the Grand Prix field mixed up with courses featuring banks, ditches, and more natural obstacles to keep riders and horses on their toes.
Equitation riders have a complete array of classes from A-Z coming to a head on Sunday, August 23 with the 20th annual Massachusetts Hunter Jumper Medal Finals (MHJ). The MHJ Finals is one of the most anticipated equitation events in the New England-region each year. Fieldstone will also host a Lobster Bake the night before the finals (Saturday, August 22) for all MHJ medal qualifiers and guests.
