Olympian Susan Blinks and Habanero L Kick Off the Winter Dressage Show Season with Accuhorsemat Accuracy Award
Pressrelease Wellington, FL (January 20, 2017) – Susan Blinks and Habanero L brought their talent in full force to their first show at the 2017 Adequan Global Dressage Festival in Wellington, Florida, bringing home a blue ribbon in the Intermediate I division. Blinks and Habanero L, a 13-year-old Hanoverian gelding (His Highness x Wolkenfee, Wolkenstein II) owned by Leatherdale Farm and Louise Leatherdale, also earned the Accuhorsemat Accuracy Award for their winning test.

Blinks, a past Olympic Team Bronze medalist, was honored to be rewarded for her accurate riding. “That’s what it’s all about – little details,” said Blinks. She was happy to share her award with Habanero, who she has been riding just a little over a year. Her favorite thing about the gelding is his character. “He’s just amazing,” she said.
Blinks has a long and successful history in the dressage world. On Flim Flam, she earned a Team Bronze medal at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. She and Flim Flam were also part of the Silver medal-winning team at the 2002 FEI World Equestrian Games in Spain. Based out of Leatherdale Farm West in Rancho Santa Fe, California, Blinks is a popular clinician and trainer and is currently campaigning two horses at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival. She is an advocate of alternative therapies for her horses, who enjoy acupuncture, magnetic blankets, and laser treatments. The opportunity to learn about Accuhorsemat first-hand as well as the human Acuswedemat was a welcomed prize. Blinks was eager to try out the Acuswedemat. “I’m a therapy queen,” she laughed. “I could use that human mat right now!”
