Press release | Dressage – Vero Beach, FL (November 18, 2016) – International Grand Prix rider, trainer, and competitor Katherine Bateson-Chandler challenged riders to draw just a bit more effort and brilliance from their equine partners at a recent clinic hosted by CFH Dressage on Florida’s East coast. One exceptional rider earned a prize pack of all-natural Omega Alpha equine health supplements, courtesy of Bateson-Chandler’s sponsor, Omega Alpha Pharmaceuticals, Inc. This award was given to the rider who stood out most to Bateson-Chandler at the clinic for putting in significant effort, accomplishing individual goals, and displaying the most improvement during the training session. Chrissa Hoffmann, owner of CFH Dressage, received the honor.

Hoffmann rode her own ‘Scrabble’ in the clinic, a 10-year-old Hanoverian by Sandro Hit and out of a DeNiro mare. “He is truly one of a kind,” she said of the 16.3 hand red-bay, who is known for his outstanding character and ground-covering gaits. “Katherine really helped me with Scrabble’s balance and frame,” explained Hoffmann, USDF Bronze, Silver and Gold medalist. “Overall, she pushed me to ride him with more power from his hind legs. He is still young but getting stronger, and learning to carry more weight behind.”
Scrabble, acquired by Hoffmann as a four year old, is schooling all Grand Prix movements and is set to compete at Intermediaire II this winter. He has already shown Prix St. Georges-Intermediaire I with a score of 70 percent.
Bateson-Chandler chose to give Hoffman the Omega Alpha prize after seeing her progress with Scrabble during the clinic. “Chrissa showed great improvement on her up-and-coming Grand Prix horse, especially in his contact and in quickening his reaction to her aids. Chrissa hosted a fantastic clinic day.”
Canadian-based Omega Alpha Pharmaceuticals knows that equine success in the show arena is linked to good equine health. Omega Alpha manufactures herbal-based liquid and powdered supplements, and is devoted to rewarding horses that exhibit great health. The company is proud to sponsor Bateson-Chandler and give her horses what they need to stay healthy and happy in their competitive endeavors. In particular, Bateson-Chandler and the horses in her string are fans of Omega Alpha’s Antiflam for reducing inflammation in the body and hooves, Healthy Horse for overall well-being, and Gastra-FX for digestive health.
Omega Alpha offers a wide range of over 40 natural award-winning products developed through research-based science. Bateson-Chandler presented Hoffmann and Scrabble with a prize pack that includes a variety of naturally formulated supplements made for enhancing equine health and performance, including Equisel BCAA electrolyte paste, Chill Ultra to calm and focus, RegenerEQ to promote long-lasting gastro-intestinal health, Gastra FX for sensitive stomachs, and the popular probiotic Biotic 8.
“The clinic was great,” confirmed Hoffmann. “Katherine and I have been friends for a long time, and we plan to do more clinics together in the future.”
To prepare for the 2017 winter equestrian season and to conduct more clinics across the country, Bateson-Chandler recently returned to the United States after training in Europe with British Team Olympic gold medalist and friend, Carl Hester. Currently, she trains during the summer months with Hester and gains international exposure competing abroad. Her efforts have distinguished herself among some of the best in the world, and this summer she earned a silver medal in the CDIO5* Aachen as part of the Dutta Corporation U.S. Dressage Team.
KBC Dressage, Bateson-Chandler’s own training business, which she began in 2008, is based in Wellington, Florida. During the winter months, she trains with U.S. Olympian and Developing Dressage Coach Debbie McDonald, and offers training and coaching services across the United States and in Europe. Her international Grand Prix experience ensures that her students—both human and equine — have the competitive edge necessary for success in the dressage ring.
