London Olympics: GCT riders and horses head to the Games
Top Global Champions Tour riders and horses have been chosen to head to the Olympic Games in London. Selection lists have now been published and the national teams include many of the world famous stars of the GCT circuit.
The high calibre of riders and horses in the GCT series and the tough competition over extremely challenging courses, made it a key focus for Chefs d’Equipe in the run up to the London Games in historic Greenwich Park. Performances at GCT events this season have been closely watched by selectors for months. International stars in the sport including Rolf-Göran Bengtsson, Nick Skelton, Kevin Staut, Edwina Tops-Alexander, Eric Lamaze, Marcus Ehning, Pius Schwizer and Christian Ahlmann will all be on their way to London.
Other riders who have shown real success recently like Olivier Guillon, Pénélope Leprevost, Kamal Bahamdan, Katharina Offel and Cassio Rivetti will also be going to the Games after impressive performances at GCT shows this season.
