Course designer Frank Rothenberger is building a real challenge for GCT Grand Prix of Hamburg
Standing on the grass arena overlooking every detail of the course building for this afternoon’s Global Champions Tour Grand Prix, Frank Rothenberger predicted one of the toughest challenges this year’s GCT season will see when asked about today’s course.
Rothenberger:”The top riders in the world are here to compete and produced 18 clear rounds in Thursday’s qualification. As today horses will start that did not ride the qualification the level of competitors is even better. The course will for sure be high, wide and technical and certainly tougher then Thursday, in fact I think this course will go down in history as one of the toughest of the GCT season 2012”.
The first round will exist of thirteen combinations and includes the famous water ditch of Hamburg . The second round includes another ditch (without water). The jump off course has two short turns, one left and one right as well as two long galloping lines. With the grass arena in very good condition and the sun coming out conditions promise to be perfect for this afternoon. If in fact Frank Rothenberger’s prediction will be correct can be viewed online and on television.
The first round of the Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Germany can be watched this afternoon at 13.26 on live stream. Eurosport International will broadcast the second round at 21.30 CEST and Eurosport France at 22.00 o’clock CEST. NDR will broadcast live from 15.15 till 16.45 CEST.
