What is the FEI Ranking Reining worth?
Every riders dream is a top placing in the FEI ranking in the classic disciplines dressage, showjumping, eventing and vaulting. For reiners this is somewhat different. The FEI updates the rankings monthly, but the reining ranking has only been updated four times this year.
When EQWO.net interviewed Gennaro Lendi, who’d already led the FEI ranking ahead of the FEI World Championships in Givrins, (11.-13.08.2016) he said: “What ranking are you talking about? I’ve never heard of it, where can I find that ranking?” Only hours later he became World Champion 2016.
The Americans didn’t even send their top riders to the World Championships in Givrins.
For 2017 there are 14 FEI shows planned around the world. In comparison there will be 691 FEI showjumping events, 170 dressage shows, 260 eventing competitions and 32 vaulting tournaments.
