David Marcus Wins Best Turnout Award for $120,000 5* West Palm Beach
Wellington, FL – March 28, 2012 -David Marcus of Campbellville Ontario was the unanimous winner of the Best Turned Out Award at the initial horse inspection for the $120,000 5* West Palm Beach, presented by Diamante Farms. The inspection took place on Wednesday at the Stadium show grounds of the Global Dressage Festival (GDF) in preparation for the CDI-5* dressage competition to be held Thursday, March 29 and Friday, March 30.
Marcus and his horse Chrevi’s Capital jogged out in style in a tailored suit and tie and were presented with a $100 gift certificate from the tack store The Horse Of Course – The International warm-up arena, the site for the inspection, saw the horses and their riders strut their stuff before an international panel of judges. Axel Steiner, President of the Ground Jury, noted “All twenty horses that were presented today passed. We are looking forward to a very interesting and probably tight competition tomorrow.”

The 5* West Palm Beach begins Thursday morning at 9:00 AM with the FEI Grand Prix class. On Friday, competition continues with the FEI Olympic Grand Prix Special also starting at 9:00 AM. The FEI Grand Prix Freestyle class will be held on Friday evening. A spectator favorite, the Freestyle showcases horses “dancing” to the music while performing intricate dressage movements. Festivities begin at 7:30 with a spectacular opening ceremony by Ukiproduction that will feature a DJ, a laser show and “silk dancers!”
Admission, stadium seating, and general parking are all free. Valet parking is available for a fee. For a VIP experience, spectators can reserve a table in the Global Pavilion. A reserved table for 6 guests is $1,500. On Friday night only, a limited number of tickets are available at $150 per seat. Pavilion guests will be treated to a breakfast and lunch buffet with an open bar and on Friday night dinner will also be served. To make reservations, please call Annette Goyette at 561-784-1120. Pavilion tickets may also be purchased at the door.
The Global Dressage Festival will also include a National Horse Show on March 30- April 1. Classes range from the USDF Training Level up through the national Grand Prix level.
