France and Russia victorious
The FEI European Championships for Children, Juniors and Young Riders in Wiener Neustadt have officially begun! 100 riders from 27 nations between the ages of twelve and 14 opened the Champioships with their first individual qualification. The difficult course (1.25 m) was not an easy task for the Children riders, but 33 combinations managed to stay clear. Due to the number of starters the class was divided into two sections and therefore had two lucky winners. Elisa Mellec (FRA) aboard Renarde Rumel and Arina Deldinova (RUS) riding Khan decided the first competition for themselves.

Austria had two clear rounds produced by Marie Christine Sebesta (Carrion de los Condes) and Noelle Ruth (Age of Empire). Sally Zwiener (Cindy Crawford) finished with a score of twelve penalty points, Hannah Minichshofer (Steinkraus) with eight.
