JumpingMonteCarloPress Release International Jumping Monte Carlo – Italians riders were in pretty good shape, tonight, during the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix du Prince de Monaco presented by Sapinda Holding BV. We could felt that Italy was not far from the Rocher Prince hearing the encouragements from the public for the two Italian riders of the class, Emanuele Gaudiano and Piergiorgio Bucci, who finish on the highest step of the platform, respectively first and second.

Riding his 10y grey stallion, Caspar 232, Emanuele Gaudiano wins in Monaco his first Grand Prix on the Longines Global Champions Tour circuit. A particular and tasteful victory, sharing it with a horse that he, himself, has built up since its first years: “We bought him when he was young, and have worked together to this point today. Today was his first 5* Grand Prix win, he jumped every round better and better. He’s not a typical horse for this ring but he did an amazing job. I think for every rider to win a Grand Prix is good, but to win a Global Champions Tour Grand Prix is special – it’s amazing”. The Italian rider is used to these podiums, he finished third for example last year during the same class.

With no less than fifteen clears in the first round, in which 9 will make the double-clear needed to jump the jump-off, the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix du Prince de Monaco by Sapinda Holding BV has offered great sport moments. A third round just like we love them, with a public exciting for every pole brushed, and going wild for every rider who defied the leading time of Emanuele Gaudiano(36,64 sec). Second Italian rider of the competition, Piergiogio Bucci, riding Casallo Z, has created the surprise by signing his best performance in the five stars level, and concluding his round in 37,37 seconds, just behind his fellowship rider. Rolf-Göran Bengtsson and his loyal Casall Ask competes the podium (37,95 sec). Used to good results on the circuit, this third place adds him some points and keeps him in the race to win the Longines Global Champions Tour.

Germany’s Christian Ahlmann, who had one pole down with Colorit, keeps the lead of the LGCT provisional rank with 50 points ahead, but the competition is getting tougher: “On the paper it looks quite good but now only eight results are counting. I hope some wins are coming in the next few shows! To watch again a wonderful, really hot jump off, like it was in Cannes was nice, but it would be better to be taking part in it again next time!”, he said smiling. His opponents are warned for the next leg, the Longines Paris Eiffel Jumping that will take place on July 1st to 3rd, at the Plaine de Jeux de Bagatelle. But before that, riders and the public of Monaco will be lined-up for the expected Global Champions League, tomorrow at 1:15pm.
