Fieldstone Show Park NEHJA Hunter Derby Finals

The NEHJA Hunter Derby Finals highlight the weekend’s agenda as an exhibitor-favorite, with courses on one of the only grass derby fields in North America. Launched in 2010, the derby series was designed for up-and-coming horses and riders, providing a chance to compete over authentic hunt field obstacles in a two-round competition judged on performance, hunter pace, style and movement. The Fieldstone Summer Showcase offers a rare opportunity for exhibitors to compete on the best grass footing the Northeast has to offer. The courses, designed by Thomas Hern of Plymouth, Mass., will feature a bank, a ditch and natural obstacles.
The Fieldstone Summer Showcase welcomes competitors of all levels to its world-class venue to show in the closing events. Riders who have successfully competed in one New England Hunter Derby are invited to participate in the Finals. The 2015 series concludes with four premier derby events over two days, including the $10,000 NEHJA 3′ Hunter Derby Final, $7,500 NEHJA 2’9 Open Hunter Derby Final, $5,000 NEHJA Child/Adult Hunter Derby Final and $2,500 NEHJA Pony Derby Final.
Judges for the 2015 NEHJA Hunter Derby Finals include: Otis Brown, Jim Zulia, George Wallace, and Fred Hunt.
Immediately following the USEF-rated 5-star all jumper Silver Oak Jumper Tournament, the Fieldstone Summer Showcase, kicks off on Monday August 17 with a Equitation Show and on Tuesday, with a full slate schedule packed with hunter, jumper and equitation, concluding with the Massachusetts Hunter Jumper (MHJ) Medal Finals on Sunday, Aug. 23.
That weekend will be a very special one for all of our competitors, especially those that come with a big appetite! We are thrilled to welcome all of our MHJ Medal Finals participants to join us for a great New England tradition, a real scrumptious Cape Cod-style Lobster Bake, right on the FSP show grounds. There is no feast more fun than a hands-on Cape Cod lobster bake featuring meaty backshore lobsters, delicious just-dug clams, Wellfleet oysters and littlenecks, and all the extras. Those riders participating in the Finals, as well as their guests, are welcome to join us at no charge for a true taste of the Cape. For others, tickets are only $35 for one of the tastiest and most traditional feasts imaginable in New England.
