FEI Nations Cup Premiere Wr. Neustadt: Germany keeps the lead after cross country – Austria falls back to sixth place
BB | eventing – 24 obstacles, 35 jumps on a course of 3960 meters had to be overcome without faults in an allowed time of 6 minutes and 57 seconds to have the chance to rank top in this international 3-star Nations Cup competition at the Horse Trials in Wr. Neustadt Theresian military academy. In cross country one second time exceed means 0.4 faults. A disobedience even means 20 faults.
At 12 o’clock the first of a total of 48 riders entered the course. In total there are 48 pairs competing, 30 of them for the FEI Nations Cup Team ranking. 18 count only for the individual ranking.
Germany kept the lead in the Nations Cup ranking with a total of 242,60 points ahead of The Netherlands (243,60) and Great Britain (245,50). Austria fell to sixth place (288.10) after the elimination of Manfred Rust and refusals by Rebecca Gerold and Margit Appelt. Austria’s current champion Charlotte Dobretsberger only had a few time faults. She ranks very promisingly at the sixth place in the individual ranking.
The lead in the CICO3 * individual ranking took the British rider Georgie Spence on Halltown Harley. Before the final showjumping competition tomorrow (Sunday, 01.07.), he has 6.7 points – so a little more than a drop-off – lead over the second placed rider Miloslov Prihoda Jr. (CZE) with Captain Hero. On the third place we find Jan van Beek (NED) in the saddle of Vamp du Monselet with 67.00 points in total.
Britain is currently the leader in the overall ranking of the FEI Nations Cup 2017 ahead of Germany. Who will be able to secure the 100 points for the victory tomorrow in the final show jumping?
