Horse & Hound reported, that 25 year old Friederike Ruhle from Germany passed away after an accident on July 1 2015 at around 5.30 am in Melbourne.
The rider, who worked for local trainer Byron Cozamanis, fell off her horse due to unknown reason. Although she received medical attention on site as well as in Alfred Hospital she died from her severe injuries.
Everyone at Melbourne Racing Club is ‘deeply shocked’ according to chairman Mike Symons.
The club is investigating the incident in cooperation with Victoria Police and Work Safe.
