The first oft wo go rounds of the Bit Futurity for 4-year-old horses started the 2015 NRHA Breeders Futurity in Kreuth / Germany. With a purse of more than €150,000, the German Futurity is one of Europe’s top three reining Futurity events each year.
In the Bit Open, NRHA Million Dollar Rider Cody Sapergia took the lead aboard Made In Walla scoring a 219 after a great run. The buckskin AQHA gelding is by Walla Walla Whiz out of Miss Chilly Chex and owned by Sabine Lisec and Chuck Klipfel (KL Performance Horses). The two bought the horse last year from breeder Ambrosini Quarter Horses. Canadian Trainer of the Year 2007 Cody Sapergia rode Made In Walla to the 2015 NRHA European Futurity Championship Open L4 after winning the go round. KL Performance Horses from Austria also are the owners of Tari Whizin who won the 2014 NRHA Breeders Futurity Championship Open with Cody Sapergia in the saddle.
In the Open Bit, two riders tied for second place: Grischa Ludwig aboard Matthias Schneeberger’s AQHA stallion Spark N Crome (Custom Crome x Spark N Pretty), whjo was bred by Sandra Friesenbiller, and Ann Fonck Poels aboard the AQHA mare Spook N Perla (Smart Spook x Shine On Ruff), bred and owned by Golden Paint Ranch. In the Ltd. Open, Steve Ouellet and Steadynest Dude (Steadys Dude x Finest Chicolena) took the lead scoring a 216. The stallion was bred by Roberto Prevosti and is owned by Matteo Benedusi. Australian trainer Shauna Larcombe and Twist In A Dream (Magnum Chic Dream x Frost N Twist) placed second for owner Chanay Sky Management S.A.. The mare bred by Monica Nicolini scored a 215.
Gina Schumacher leading after Breeders Bit NP go round
Scoring a 216.5, FEI European Champion Junior Riders Gina Schumacher and her Star Bleach took the lead both in the Breeders Futurity Bit Non Pro and Ltd. Non Pro Go round. The 4-year-old stallion is by Star Spangled Whiz, with whom Rudi Kronsteiner earned European record score, out of Snappy Bleach. The horse which was bred by Elisabetha Raviola, was 2015 NRHA European Co-Reserve Champion Non Pro L4 with Gina Schumacher in the saddle.
In the Non Pro, NRHA Past World Champion Manuel Bonzano placed second aboard his Big Fat (Big Chex To Cash x ARC Senorita Cal Bar) scoring a 214.5. The stallion was bred by Alberto Zaffi. He placed eighth at the 2015 NRHA European Futurity 2015 Level 4 Non Pro. Manuel also rode his NRHA European Co-Reserve Champion Non Pro L4 Spook O Rey on third place of the NRHA Breeders Futurity Go round.
In the Ltd. Non Pro, three riders tied for second place scoring a 212 each: Swiss riders Fabienne Kurati-Suter aboard her AQHA gelding SL Wild Spook (Smart Spook x Wild Sister, bred by Sandra Linnig-Föhl) and Adrienne Speidel aboard her AQHA mare SL Customized Grace (Great Resolve x Shes Customized, bred by Sandra Linnig-Föhl) as well as Silvia Maile aboard her AQHA mare Badger Me Red (Reds Gonna Rein x LQ Honey).
