There was fierce competition for top position in the CSI1* GLOCK’s Medium Tour. The 23 registered duos sped off the line in the fault/time test over 1.30 m and the first three were separated by less than three tenths of a second. In the end it was Salzburg-based rider Ute Antonie Meinhart who prevailed. In her first start in the GHPC she immediately made best time in 64.47 seconds with her eleven-year-old Caretino son, Cabalou.
“This tournament is completely different from all the others. All of the context, the evening programme, the many surprises – it is beyond words”, she said, beaming in the winner’s interview. “Today my horse Cabalou really helped so much and exerted himself. I’m happy!”
Nina Barbour (GBR), in the saddle on Douglas Delight, was narrowly beaten and lined up for second place in 64.55 seconds. Third place was secured in 64.76 seconds by Young Rider EC participant Valerie Wick (AUT/NÖ) in the saddle on her cheeky BWP gelding Gijon van den Hunsberg.
