CastlewoodFarm_Wellington_LogoThroughout July, the team at Castlewood Farm left their Wellington, Florida base for a chance at top honors on the opposite Florida coast. At Fox Lea Farm in Venice, the team, led by Alan and Kirsty Korotkin, continued an extremely successful summer show season, earning wins across the divisions from the children’s hunters to the open jumpers.

Alan Korotkin set the pace for several successful weeks when he kicked things off with a one-two finish in the Welcome Stake at the Camp Dress Rehearsal Horse Show. Korotkin was the only rider to produce double clear efforts, taking the win with Carneyhaugh TT and finishing second with Thorpe, both owned by Sandalwood Farm.

By the end of their time at Fox Lea Farm, Castlewood had claimed numerous championship tricolors, as well as overall end of circuit championship and reserve championship awards.

Earning the circuit championship in the Children’s Hunters were Margot Hirsch and Castlewood Farm’s Don Perignon, a 16-year-old Oldenburg gelding that Hirsch is presently leasing and with whom she has seen continuous success. Before claiming the circuit championship, Hirsch rode Don Perignon to four straight weekly division championships and a clean sweep of all of the classes during weeks one and two.

Seeing similar success in the Junior Hunter division were Olivia Notman and her own Signature. The duo earned first place finishes during weeks two and three, before finishing with the Junior Hunter circuit reserve championship.

In the equitation divisions, it was Nicole Leibowitz’s turn to take the top calls.

„While it’s Nicole’s final year as a junior rider, it’s her first year competing in the equitation, but she looks like a seasoned veteran,“ said Korotkin.

Aboard Upgrade, owned by Jumping Spring LTD, Leibowitz earned wins in the WIHS Equitation and the THIS Children’s Medal. Her success in the THIS Children’s Medal marked three straight wins in the class for Leibowitz, and she is now qualified among some of the top competitors for the THIS Children’s Medal Finals.

Following their successful month at Fox Lea Farm’s horse shows, the Castlewood Farm team heads next to the Southeast Medal Finals and Capital Challenge.
