Austria on top in the CSI1* GLOCK’s Small Tour

A course over 1.15 m awaited duos participating in the CSI1* GLOCK’s Small Tour today. In this standard show jumping test over 1.15 m, twelve of the eighteen rider-horse duos who started remained free of penalties. Victory went to the same duo as in yesterday’s kick-off event for Austria. This time, Klara Goess-Saurau, hailing from Burgenland and soon to be 13 years old, piloted her 16-year-old Holsteiner mare Lillifee to the finish in 54.79 seconds, entitling her to the GLOCK winner’s trophy.

“I’m happy that it went so well. In tomorrow’s final, Lillifee and I will be giving our best once again, so let’s see how things pan out” was the young talent’s modest comment.

A double victory for the sisters was blocked by Madée Schuttenbeld (NED) in the saddle on Vayrenta (0/55.45), because this young lady from the Netherlands pushed Ludovica Goess-Saurau (AUT/B), with Mylady Mercedes, into third place (0/56.02). There were also Austrian placings for Bianca Rüscher (V) with Carissma S, Carola Lehner (V) with Decibel 3 and Marie Christine Sebesta (W) with Obora’s Sherbet in fifth, eighth and tenth places.
