Press release Sunshine Tour – Today we began a new week of competitions at the Dehesa Montenmedio with 350 Young Horses in the 5, 6, and 7 year old classes. Almost 200 added clears to their totals towards the YH Finals on the Wednesday the 16th of March. Almost 100 horses have already qualified.
In the 7 yr olds 120 horses jumped, 83 went clear, there are 33 already qualified for the finals, 4 of which have 9 clears each. These horses are Chippo Z ridden by the Dutch rider Ruben Lamers, Vendme Palordet ridden by the French rider Alexander Suer, Clyde ridden by Shane Breen and Arramis, ridden by Robert Maguire.
In the 6 yr olds 129 horses jumped and 60 went clear, this means there are now 39 horses qualified for the final. There are 6 horses with 9 clears each, Baltimore Van Ter Hulst Z ridden by the Belgian rider Virginie Thonon, Brighton Bay ridden by Emma Augier de Moussac, Fakkato M ridden by Guy Williams, Fernando Blue ridden by Maarten Driessen, Nelson Easy ridden by th,e Spanish rider Enrique Camiruaga and Redhill Fanta ridden by Joe Whitaker.
There were 87 horses in the 5 yr olds and 46 went clear. There are now 27 horses qualified for the final. Horses with 9 clears are; Ginger Ale and Good Choice both ridden by Danny Dunne.
All the Young Horses have the opportunity to jump again tomorrow in order to get the qualifying rounds needed for the finals. The 7 year old class starts at 10:00 in Arena 4 Ratina Z; the 6 yr olds at 11:00 in Arena 9 Guarana Champeix and at noon the 5 yr olds in Arena 5 Milton.
