Palm Beach International Academy Offers Educational and Tutorial Programs for Horse Show Competitors
Welcomes Two New Administrators and Announces an Open House
WELLINGTON, FLORIDA – December 20, 2013 – Palm Beach International Academy (PBIA), a division of Private Tutoring Services, Inc. (PTS) which offers full and part-time educational programs for students traveling with the horse show circuit, announces an expansion of their learning facility and administration. Located within minutes to dressage, polo and show jumping facilities in Wellington, Florida, PBIA has planned an Open House for Tuesday, February 18, from 6-8 pm to provide tours of their newest addition.
The expansion to a 5,000 square foot facility and the addition of new staff members, Eric Paul and Sergio Andre, are vital parts of the organization’s commitment to the exemplary education of children on the horse show circuit. Executive and Founding Director, Joanne Weiner, explains that “PTS began from a vision that the education of young people, teenagers and adults can happen anywhere and anytime with extraordinary educators who love to share their knowledge and passion for particular subjects and areas. Our newest additions of space and staff will serve to further our vision.”
Eric Paul, the new Executive Academic Director, worked for The School District of Palm Beach County for 20 years as a teacher, principal and district administrator, and was the Vice President of Curriculum and Instruction for Charter Schools USA prior to joining PTS. Mr. Paul holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa, a Master’s degree in Special Education and an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership, both from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. “I am thrilled to join PTS and look forward to helping to continue the tradition of educational excellence and attention to each student’s needs that PTS is known for” says Eric Paul.
Sergio Andre, the new Academic Director for PBIA, is equally excited to play a role in helping PTS further the education of equestrians and all students. With a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from St. Thomas University in Bogata Columbia, and 16 years of teaching experience in traditional and alternative programs, Mr. Andre holds a Professional Certificate in the State of Florida for ESOL, Spanish as a Foreign Language, Middle School Math, and Social Studies (K-12). In 2012, Mr. Andre was the recipient of the Hispanic Heritage Month Excellence in Education Award awarded by Florida’s Governor Rick Scott. “I am in love with the idea of self-paced learning,” says Sergio Andre, “and the concept of asynchrony in education that we offer at PTS. It empowers students to fulfill their academic goals by focusing on their intellectual needs.”
Private Tutoring Services, Inc. (PTS) has provided self-paced, individualized educational services since 1989 with the belief that students can reach their personal and academic potentials by accommodating personalized needs, learning and life styles. PTS also offers language and cultural education, accredited elementary through university programs, and college counseling and guidance, all offered at their facilities near or on the show grounds, in homes or barns throughout the world and through Skype and other real-time video-conferencing. This winter, students in both Ocala, Florida at the HITS Horse Show and Gulfport, Mississippi at The Gulf Coast Winter Classics can also take advantage of customized full and part-time educational programs offered by PTS.
