Press Release – For the second year in a row the opening week of the Adequan Global Dressage Festival will be sponsored by the AMCI Group to benefit Brooke USA. Due to the generosity of long-time supporters, Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Kundrun, equine welfare charity Brooke USA will headline the Lloyd Landkamer Memorial CDI-W and FEI Grand Prix Freestyle, presented by AMCI Group to benefit Brooke USA.

Brooke USA supports the overseas work of Brooke, the world’s largest international equine welfare charity with a long track record of successfully improving the lives of working horses, donkeys and mules in impoverished regions of the globe. Brooke has been providing sustainable solutions to many equine welfare issues for 83 years. This year alone, Brooke reached an astounding 2 million equines, benefiting 12 million people in countries where many people earn less than a dollar a day.

But there is much more work to be done, because at least 100 million equines are working in the developing world to support the livelihoods of 600 million people. Events like the FEI Grand Prix Freestyle are important in expanding awareness of Brooke USA’s mission.

„I have been involved with Brooke for the past 12 years because as a young man, my company sent me to Pakistan. I lived there for two and a half years and I saw firsthand the plight of donkeys, horses and camels,“ Mr. Kundrun recalled.

„Every day I saw how cruelly they were being treated, and I promised myself that if I ever succeeded in my career, I would dedicate some money to make their lives more bearable. Helping them to be more productive would also benefit their owners and better their standard of living.  After many years, a friend of ours told us about Brooke and I said, ‚My God, this is wonderful. We have been a major supporter ever since for many of their different projects in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nepal, Egypt, and lately Ethiopia.

„We have been involved in many other charities, but our cooperation with Brooke was effective, professional, exceptionally well managed and satisfying. If interested, we would be more than happy to personally answer any questions for potential donors,“ concluded Mr. Kundrun.

Brooke is determined to do whatever it takes to ensure that the right elements are in place for working horses, donkeys and mules to be healthy and happy now and in the long-term.

Brooke USA also focuses on creating awareness of the organization’s goals through its brand ambassadors and advocates. Some of whom include two-time Olympic gold medalist Charlotte Dujardin and Monty Roberts (both Brooke Global Ambassadors), polo superstar Nic Roldan, Olympic eventer Boyd Martin and Olympic dressage medalists Debbie McDonald, Allison Brock (who rides for the Kundruns), and Kasey Perry-Glass.

Brooke USA’s theme for the Adequan Global Dressage Festival Week One is „Horse Heroes“ and will commemorate this year’s US World War One Centennial by honoring the nearly one million American horses and mules who served alongside soldiers in the bloodiest war of the century.
