Jappeloup was only standing at 159 cm but nevertheless kept up with the „big ones“ like Big Ben (180 cm). Ridden by Pierre Durand (FRA), Jappeloup won the Olympic gold medal (individual) as well as bronze (team) at the 1988 Games in Seoul. In 1987 he also secured gold and silver at the European Championships.
