British show jumping legend John Whitaker, also known as one of the most successful riders in the world, got two new horses in his stables. Ornellaia and Echo of Light are the latest additions in his string of horses and are owned by former FEI president Princess Haya and her Team Harmony.
Ornellaia, a ten year old Holstein bred mare by For Pleasure x Calato, was previously ridden on four and five star level by Francois Mathy Jr (BEL). In February, John Whitaker took over the reigns and showed Ornellaia in Vejer de la Fronters (ESP) and Vilamoura (POR).
The second ‘newbie’ in Whitaker’s stables, Echo of Light, was also bred in Holstein, is also ten years old and is an offspring of Come on x Contender. Echo was ridden by Danny McGlynn (GBR) on three star level. The grey was also competing in Spain and Portugal with Whitaker.
