The First NRHA European Affiliate Champions are Crowned!


It was a special day for the Classic Equine NRHA EA Rookie Level 1 Champions, Mie Kuhnell Unoe. The young rider from Denmark claimed first place honors aboard Cool Captain Spirit (Spirit Of Rooster x Lo Spin N Lena), a 10-year- old gelding she purchased as a 2-year- old. “We’ve grown together, travelled 20 hours to come to Poland… and now we won the first European Affiliate Championship for Denmark!” Anne Marie Pareyn of France closed in second place with her ND Smart Pleasedunit (Chic Please x Its Hollywood Lights), an 11-year- old gelding, between the reins. Hungarian Jozsef Stemmer rode Lil Freaky Dancer (Lil Dry Peppy x Scotch Bar Kachina), an 8-year- old mare, to third place.

It took a run-off to determine the Markel $3,000-added NRHA EA Intermediate Non Pro Champions after Tom Vandermot from Belgium and his own Colonel WR San Jo (San Jo Freckles x Selenas Classy Smoke) along with Steve Vannietvelt and his Nic Ricochet (Ricochet Rooster x Minnie Nic) scored a 215. 23-year- old Vandermot bested his score by half-a- point and took the championship after Vannietvelt added a turn to the four required and closed with a zero and the reserve championship. Poland’s Karol Bryla rode to the third step of the podium with a 214.5 aboard A Diamond Enterprise (I Cee Diamonds x BH Frosty Lena), a 7-year-old stallion she owns.

Ancillary Action:
Eifel Gold Ranch Baeck $2,000-added NRHA Intermediate Open Champions – with a 212 – were Valentina Sagmeister and the 12-year- old stallion Smart N Artful (Smartin x Miss Super Scooter) owned by Andreas Hoermanseder. Rafal Dolata (POL) and Stepjac Flygirl (Hes A Steppin Jac x Flyin Royal Saidy), a 7-year- old mare owned by Kinga Grygiel, placed second with a 210.5.

Kristyna Kleiblova (CZE) won the Radio VOX FM $500-added NRHA Limited Open aboard Petr Lamich-Lama’s Topsail Pop, a 5-year- old stallion by Remin Whiz and out of MM Lollipop with a 211.5. Behind them, with a 207, were Bogdan Czarnik (POL) and Guns At Nite (Gunners Special Nite x Jackie Be Ruf), owned by Arkadiusz Nagiec.
Winning the Werner Kenkel $300-added NRHA Snaffle Bit 4-year- old &Under Open with a 216.5 was Lukas Brucek (CZE) riding Kelly Deelen’s GI A Classic Whiz (Remin Whiz x A Classic Dun It). Adrian Motyka and Hollywannashine (Lean With Hollywood x Shining Whiz) owned by Katarzyna Roleska closed in second place with a 213.5. The last two days of the EAC will determine who will take home the Youth 13 & Under, the Youth 14-18, the Intermediate Open, the Limited Non Pro, the Limited Open, the Non Pro and the Open European Championships.
