Palm City Polo won the 2016 Women’s Championship Tournament Title

Press Release – Palm City Polo won the 2016 Women’s Championship Tournament (WCT) title, defeating Scribble Horse Polo 5-4½ on April 16 at Grand Champions Polo Club. The only women’s polo event of its kind and the largest polo league in the world, the WCT Finals has attracted players from throughout the U.S. and internationally. Jaqui Casey, daughter of Palm City Polo Club owner Joey Casey, was a member of the winning team that included Hope Arellano, Tiffany Busch and Meli Galindo.

„I am very proud and happy for Jaqui and all of the team members,“ said Joey Casey.

Palm City Polo exhibited excellent offense and defense, leading for most of the game. Scribble Horse Polo had the lead at one point in the third chukker, but in the fourth and final chukker Busch scored from the field and on a penalty 2 to give her four goals for the day and put Palm City back on top 5-3½. Courtney Asdourian scored once more for Scribble Horse for a four-goal game total, but the clock ran out, giving Palm City Polo the win and the title.

„Jaqui had an exciting day Saturday. She was also a member of the Sapphires team who won the WCT Junior Invitational,“ said Casey. The Junior Invitational tournament features junior girls polo players ages 10-17. The Sapphires team (which included Riley Ganzi, Jennifer Pascarelli and Jennifer Williams) was coached by the legendary Sunny Hale.

Palm City Polo Club, located just minutes from Wellington in Boynton Beach, is an inclusive and welcoming club for everyone interested in polo. The 35-acre facility features two regulation grass polo fields and a regulation outdoor arena. Players and guests can also enjoy the polo lounge and patio area adjacent to the main polo field. Palm City Polo promotes an environment where novice to high-goal players can compete in a relaxed atmosphere and with all the amenities of a safe full-service polo training facility.

About Joey Casey:
Joey Casey is a third-generation polo player and is also internationally known as one of the top breeders and trainers who has produced many of the of top polo ponies that have played in the sport.

A former 7-goaler, he has played in numerous U.S. Open Polo Championships. His career highlights include: six-time winner of the Sunshine League Championship (26 goal); four-time winner of the International Gold Cup Championship (26 goal); three-time winner of the C.V. Whitney Cup (26 goal), and the USPA Gold Cup (26 goal) and the Westchester Cup (26 goal). He twice won the Sunshine League Championship (20 goal) and won the 3 de Febrero Handicap (0-40) Open in Argentina.

Other prestigious tournaments he won include: the Pacific Coast Open (20 goal); the Canadian Open (20 goal), and the International Cup (18 goal). He is an 11-time winner of the Hartman League Championship (12-14 goal) and numerous Kaycolee Tournament Championships (10 goal).

About Palm City Polo:
Palm City Polo Club announces its new facility just off of Highway 441 North of Boynton Beach Boulevard in Boynton Beach, Florida. The plans for the new facility include two polo fields, 100 stalls and a regulation outdoor arena. Palm City Polo’s goal is to promote a friendly environment for players from novice to high goal to play and advance in a relaxing atmosphere with all the amenities of a full service training facility.
