The Colorado Horse Park (CHP) and Colorado Equestrian Partners are pleased to host the United States Eventing Association’s CCI1*/CIC2*, Training 3-Day and Horse Trials coming up August 13-16, 2015. The opening date for entries is this coming Tuesday, June 30. Classes offered include: CCI1*, CIC2*, Training and Novice 3-Day, Area IX Intermediate Championships and Horse Trials Intermediate through Beginner Novice. CHP, the largest horse park West of the Mississippi, hosts over 40 events of multiple disciplines throughout the calendar year and welcomes amateurs, juniors, and Olympians alike. Many top local eventers are already on the roster to compete and CHP looks forward to a great turnout. Riders from around the country are invited to experience eventing under the beautiful Rocky Mountain backdrop.
$5,000 in prize money will be offered for first place winners in the CCI1* and CIC2* each. Special prizes for best turned out horse and rider during horse inspections as well as best conditioned horse will also be offered during both the CCI and CIC competition.
The President of the Ground Jury for the CCI1* will be Faith Ponsonby from Ireland coming directly from the Dublin Horse Show. For the CIC2* we will have Wayne Quarles, an FEI 3*/4* Judge from Kentucky.
Cross country courses built by James Atkinson will feature grass footing with rolling terrain and water on all courses.
CHP would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Marilyn Payne on being selected as the President of the Eventing Ground Jury for the 2016 Olympics. She was the President of the Ground Jury for our May Horse Trials.
