Michael Whitaker gets the win of the „Copa de S.M. el rey“ – El corte inglés trophy
Press Release Oxersport – Following the forecast for the jump off, Michael Whitaker, takes the win in King’s Cup Corte Inglés Trophy, one of the star classes of the 106 CSI 5* Madrid Longines Global Champions Tour, with endowment of 75,000€ in prices. He wasn’t lucky in yesterday’s CSI5* LGCT of Madrid, but today the English rider riding Viking has dominated the competition becoming the leader, with two clear rounds and an incredible clock of 36.95 seconds in the second round, being the only pair in lowing the clock 37 seconds. The winner received the Trophy from S.A.R Infanta Miss Elena de Borbón.

Christian Ahlmann’s performance in the jump off has also been tremendous, rider number 2 in the World rankin, classifying in second position in this Trophy, riding Caribis Z, a horse with Little experience in international competitions. His timing was 37.45 seconds. Third was Henrik von Eckermann. Fourth, Penelope Leprevost and fifth Andreas Kreuzer.
The Volvo Trophy for the best rider of the class was for Laura Renwick, winner of two classes, Trophies Massimo Dutti and Volvo. Paola Amilibia received the Caser Trophy to the best Spanish rider in the class.
In the smallest, the Brazilian Pedro Veniss has been the quickest rider in King’s college Trophy, finishing with no faults and in 58.62 seconds, riding Rissoa d’Ag Bois Margot. The two next top riders in the ranking, Romain Duque ton Cacharel and Max Kühner on Electric Touch, finished aswell with no faults.The Mexican Federico Fernández, first in coming into the arena, set up a really competitive timing, 61.68 seconds.
In the CSI2*, Emma Heise was the quickest rider in the jump off, with a timing of 35.83 seconds, and final winner of Caser Seguros Trophy, riding Viper Vrombautshoeve Z. The American rider has achieved in Madrid her third International Grand Prix. Second came the Canadien Wesley Newlands and third, the great Portuguese rider Luis Sabino Goncalvez, the three of them finishing up with no faults.
