The beautiful chestnut stallion Lights of Londonderry has a new rider. Alexandre Ayache (FRA) sold the eleven year old Hannoveranian by Londonderry x Weltmeyer to Berndatte Brune.
The German Grand Prix rider wrote how happy she is on her Facebook page: “Congratulation to Alexandre Ayache to have dressed this horse so well that he is so easy to take over. A horse so easy in the hand and supple to ride is rare at this level of competition! We still have to improve a lot together but I think for the third time riding it is a perfect match! Thanks To Alexandre Ayache and Jean Vesin to have sold me this super horse!!!”
Brune, who lives in Monaco and operates Domaine Equestre des Grand Pins in Vidauban (FRA), where the European Championships for Children, Juniors and Young Riders is held this weekend. She has known the chestnut for a long time and wanted to buy him as soon as she heard that he was for sale.
Ayache, who showed Lights of Londonderry at last year’s World Equestrian Games in Caen, said that he was sad about selling him, but could not wish for a better place than Bernadette’s. And, there is cute reason behind the selling of one of his top horses: he and his partner Grete Püvi (EST), who is also a Grand Prix rider, are expecting their first baby in winter and are currently building a house in Nice.
