Following Saturday’s events, competitors enjoyed the “Beer and Ear” exhibitor party sponsored by JustWorld International; a non-profit organization that works as a catalyst for positive change in the developing world. JustWorld International provides long-term assistance to children in developing countries, focusing on improving various aspects of their daily lives such as education, food supply, and nutrition.
The event featured music by 9-year-old guitarist Nik Carman, and the main event, the Josh Davis Trio. Josh Davis recently received third place on the popular TV show The Voice, and has become a household name. He is a gifted musician who writes original songs that blend many folk traditions – including gritty rock n’ roll and vintage soul.
Face painting, extravagant balloon animals, and a timed corn eating contest were some of fun activities included in the evening’s festivities. Attendees dined on a plentiful buffet supplied by and a complementary beer selection courtesy of Traverse City’s popular North Peak Brewing Company.
“We partnered with Stadium Jumping for this event, who we’ve worked with to put together various fundraising events around the east coast and down at the Winter Equestrian Festival. They did an amazing job helping arrange all of this, and we have to thank them. Matt Morrissey and Brooke Berganza are huge supporters of our organization, and without them, tonight wouldn’t have been possible,” said Ariana Coniglio, representative of Just World International. All of Saturday night’s donations will go towards supporting children’s programs in developing countries such as Guatemala, Honduras, Bolivia, and Colombia.
