Press release – Today’s 1.45m, Longines Ranking, Small GP class, was held in the grass arena, Number 1. The Italian winner Luca Moneta on Neptune Brecourt, took the lead early in the jump off of ten horses, with an extremely fast time of 36.68 sec that even Bertram Allen from Ireland, could not catch. Bertram took second place on his horse High Valley in 36.74 sec. In third was Graham Gillespie (GB) rising Laverin de Saar; fourth was Jos Verlooy from Belgium, riding Gastron Van T Steentje and another Irish rider, Billy Twomey with Eindhoven GH, took fifth.
The winner of the Big Tour B, was Chilean rider Uri Rosenzweig on Elton Flandria Horse in 57.67 sec. Right behind him were two Irish riders, Greg Broderick on Daify with 57.79 sec and Bertram Allen, once again in the rosettes, this time with Christy JNR taking third, in a time of 60.94 sec.
There was a Spanish victory in the Big Tour A2 at the hands of Antonio Mariñas with Fleur. Douglas Duffin from Great Britain, was second riding Chento D and the French rider Alix Ragot rode Pam’Ella du Moulin into third place.
In the Big Tour A, there was a British first and second with Alison Barton riding Billy Anna taking the win and James Davenport on One Endeavour, second. Boy-Adrian Van Gelderen from Belgium was third with Elmira, was third.
Kayleigh Watts (GB) repeated yesterday’s win in the Medium Tour C, once again riding her super horse Winde. Borja Bidón from Spain, rode Quick de Glanville into second place followed by another British rider Jessica Dimmock with Cudansa M, in third.
Medium Tour B was won by the American rider Adrienne Dixon riding Zuidam. Beth Vernon from Britain was second on Omane des Faux and the Portuguese rider Nuno Gomes with Pantaro took third.
Lara Postillon (France) riding Woman, was the winner of the Medium Tour A, with two Irish riders, Derek McCoppin with Whiterock Lucky Lady and Henry Allen with Eh Quick Nina taking second and third respectively
IN the Small Tour class C the British rider Abbe Burchmore-Eames riding Castianeira took the win; in the B class American rider Rosile Biedron with LVS Wizard was the winner and in the A class, British rider Jake Ward riding Falballa de Messitert took third
Competition continues tomorrow with 11 classes throughout the day. There are three FEI Longines Ranking Classes, the 1.55 m GP that starts at 15:00, in the main David Broome arena; the Big Tour C class and the Medium Tour C class, both at 1.45 m.
