Incredible victory of Karim El Zoghby in the Estrella Damm Trophy
Amazing feeling lived this saturday at the Estrella Damm Trophy CSI5*. Fifteen of the 46 riders managed to go through the winning round. The German Daniel Deusser, since the beginning of the class, setted a time along with “First Class van Eckelghem” that seemed difficult to beat – but nothing is impossible. A few minutes after, the Egyptian Karim El Zoghby with his mare “Amelia” were able to lower nearly 2 seconds Deusser’s clock. Third place went to the German Phillip Welshaupt and „Liberty Son“ with only half a second difference of his compatriot.
Saturday’s night was loaded of excitement, starting with the Six Bars competition, the Pedro del Hierro Trophy, which was won by Luca Maria Moneta (ITA) and Neptune Brecourt (Cumano x Kayack) who jumped over two metres. It then continued with the Jump & Drive Mitsubishi Trophy 1.35m which was won by K Gonzalez de Zarate Fernandez (ESP) aboard Chevalier B. Finally Saturday finishes up with the FEI Driving World Cup.
