Everything is ready for Brazil’s last International Show before RIO 2016 OLYMPIC GAMES

Just two hours away from the center of the Olympic city, Rio de Janeiro, the CSI2* „The Number One Equiprime Horse Show“ will take place from 16 -19 of June, at the Haras Equiprime. It marks the first time that an international jumping competition goes up to the mountains of Rio de Janeiro. The event will happen in one of the most beautiful mountain areas of Brazil, around the “Pico de Deus National Reserve”, in Teresópolis, RJ. The prime location is one of the attractions of Haras Equiprime, which has 42 hectares of tropical forest around their facilities.

The Number One Equiprime Horse Show is also a new addition to the Hyundai Brazilian Championship, as the fourth from eight CSI2* events held across the country. The eight shows together, all with 1,60m Grand Prix, give a total prize money of more than R$1 million reais. Furthermore, at the end of the circuit, the winner of the Brazilian tittle is awarded with a brand new Hyundai IX35 0km. The defending champion is the rider who was part of the Brazilian squad at the London Olympics, José Roberto Reynoso Fernandez Filho. The rider stretched his overall lead in the 2016 circuit after winning the first three legs of the series.

Competing with experienced riders such as José Roberto and Cesar Almeida (Rio Pan American Games team bronze medalist), who will be riding – Jerome Guery’s former mount – Imperio Egipicio’s Zojasper, a new generation of upcoming talents will be seen. To point out some, there are Thiago Mattos, Alberto Sinimbu and Giulia Scampini. Felipe Amaral, then aged 24, was the winner of the 2013 edition of the Brazilian Championship, which was his gateway for an entry to the Brazilian team in the Pan American Games in Toronto 2015. Now, the Brazilian young talent is based in Europe, training with Rodrigo Pessoa and seeking a place in the Olympic team, which shows the importance of this tittle for these rising stars.
The competition will bring together the best in Brazil and is definitely a positive gain for the calendar of a country that exports many talents out to the world. More than 200 entries have been confirmed, welcoming all levels of riders and horses. The Number One Equiprime Horse Show is rising to the challenge of organizing an International Show Jumping competition just prior of RIO 2016 and is prepared for an unforgettable event, as the Olympics are expected to be.
