Press release ESP Spring Series – Equestrian Sport Productions (ESP), managers of the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF), will continue with competition at the world-class Palm Beach International Equestrian Center (PBIEC), as the ESP Spring Series is set to begin on Wednesday, April 6, 2016, and continue with five weeks of equestrian competition, concluding Sunday, May 15, 2016. The ESP Spring Series Prize List is now available online at www.pbiec.com.
Each week of the ESP Spring Series will feature a $10,000 Open Stakes, while ESP Spring 1 will host the $25,000 ESP Spring 1 Grand Prix presented by Nutrena, ESP Spring 2 offers the $30,000 Spring 2 Grand Prix presented by Noble Outfitters, and ESP Spring 3 will host the $30,000 Spring 3 Grand Prix presented by Pony Up Horse Treats.
The $10,000 Open Stakes at ESP Spring 1 will be sponsored by Neue Schule, while the $10,000 Open Stakes at ESP Spring 2 will be presented by Equiline, and the ESP Spring 3 $10,000 Open Stake sponsored by Accuhorsemat.
ESP Spring 1, 2, 3 will offer a $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby each week, as well as a $5,000 1.35m Classic in the International Ring for jumper riders. Hunter Classics will be hosted for Amateur-Owner, Juniors, Adults, Children’s and Ponies beginning with ESP Spring 1 and concluding ESP Spring 3.
The ESP Spring Rider Challenge will be awarded to the rider who earns the most points accumulated from the $10,000 Open Stakes Class and each $25,000 (Spring 1), or $30,000 (Spring 2 and Spring 3) USEF Ranked Grand Prix offered at ESP Spring 1, 2, & 3.
The ESP Spring Rider Challenge awards will be presented upon the conclusion of the $30,000 Spring 3 Grand Prix on Sunday, April 24, in the International Arena. The overall winner will receive $5,000, while second place will receive $3,000, and third place will collect $2,000.
Bonus money will also be offered to hunter riders competing for circuit championship honors through ESP Spring 1-3, with prize money also being awarded to OVERALL Circuit Champions and Reserve Champions. The following divisions will be eligible for bonus money:
– Overall Junior Hunter both 3’3″ and 3’6″ Champion and Reserve Champion
– Overall Amateur Owner Hunter both 3’3″ and 3’6″Champion and Reserve Champion
– Overall Adult Amateur Hunter Champion and Reserve Champion
– Overall Children’s Hunter Champion and Reserve Champion
– Overall Pony hunter Champion and Reserve Champion (does not include Green Ponies)
Champions will receive $700 and Reserve Champions will receive $300. Prize money will be awarded on the final day of competition at ESP Spring 3, Sunday, April 24.
