BB | Eventing – 141 athletes from 10 nations with 156 horses will compete in three international eventing competitions from the 30th of June to the 2nd of July at the Horse Trials Wr. Neustadt. During this three day event there will for the first time in history be held an FEI Nations Cup Eventing in Austria. Austria will meet strong teams from the UK and Germany at the FEI Nations Cup Eventing Wr. Neustadt. With two victories in Poland and the UK, Germany is now on second rank (200 points) behind the UK with three second places and 270 points in total ranking.
A total of seven riders were named by the Austrian Equestrian federation of Austria, including the current Austrian Champion and Lower Austrian Champion Charlotte Dobretsberger from Baden (lower Austria) with her top horse Vally K. Dobretsberger and the lower Austrian rider Margit Appelt are fixed for the Austrian Nations Cup team. Manfred Rust (S), Rebecca Gerold (ST), Lea Siegl (OÖ), Andreas Grafenhofer (OÖ) and Richard Mühlböck (OÖ) from Salzburg, Upper Austria and Styria were also announced. The definite team will be announced next Thursday.
Event for the whole familiy with picnic and agility
On Saturday, the 1st of July, beside the highly appreciated cross-country, there will also take place a family program with picnic (from 11 am), agility for dogs of all sizes and breeds (about 12 pm – registration on the spot) and a lounge evening from 9 pm with DJ Philipp Linzer.

2017 there are Nations Cup Eventing legs: in Poland, UK, Ireland, Austria, the USA, Germany, France and Belgium before the final in October in Boekelo (NED). The best seven nations are allowed to compete in the final.
In 2016 Germany beat Germany and France in the final.
Each nation may only host one Nations Cup Event per year and 2017 Austria got the commitment. Eight teams from Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Great Britain will be part of the CICO3* Wr. Neustadt. After three legs, Great Britain is currently in the lead ahead of Germany.
Each team consists of three to four riders. Three riders count for the result of the nation. The overall result consists of the results of the three parts dressage, cross-country and jumping.
