BB | Eventing – A total of 47 pairs competed in the 3-star Nations Cup dressage at the Horse Trials in Wr. Neustadt. 30 of them are part of one of the eight teams designated for the FEI Nations Cup Eventing. 17 riders counted for the individual ranking. The favored German team is in the lead after the dressage in front of Switzerland and Austria. The target of Austria`s consultant Thomas Tesch is a place among the top four, which seems in the reach at this time.

On Friday (30.06.), the first of three parts (dressage, terrain, jumping) took place before tomorrow the expected cross country is on the plan. Team Austria ranked third after dressage. “It is the first start of an Austrian team at a Nations Cup and of course really good teams are here to compete, but I am very confident. With Margit Appelt and Manfred Rust we two very experienced riders in the team and Charlotte Dobretsberger and Rebecca Gerold are two of Austria’s future hopes. We nominated Lea Sigl only for the individual ranking in order not to build up no pressure before her frist 3-star competition. But she is already fixed for the European Championships Young Riders in Ireland this year.
The favored Germans, who are currently second in the Nations Cup overall ranking behind the United Kingdom, are in the lead with a total of 145 points ahead of Switzerland with 148.90 points. Great Britain has only three riders in the team and ranks fifth with 151,90 points.

Peter Hasenböhler from Switzerland is responsible for the cross country: “For the first time, a 3-star competition is taking place here and the terrain gives me certain specifications. In this case the avenues are very special because of their long straights but they also give the horses the chance to gallop properly. It is definitely the case that the riders have to pay attention that they gallop well at the beginning to avoid time penalties,” Hasenböhler explains the situation. “I would definitely call the long water passage, which includes six jumps within 150 to 200 meters and is therefore a huge complex, as a difficult point in the course. But also the two hedges nearby the new water, which is in use for the first time, will be interesting, since there is no alternative. ”
In the individual ranking of the CICO3* Felix Etzel (GER) is in the lead with 44.8 points. Austrian Charlotte Dobretsberger and Vally K had a little mistake in the flying changes but rank second with excellent 44.9 points ahead Ben Vogg and Noe des Vatys from Switzerland (46.40).
