Press release – The fastest clear of the 16 horse jump off today, in the 1.50m Big Tour D, was Carlos López with Cuplandra. His winning time was 36.07 sec, easily beating Pedro Veniss with For Felicila, into second place in a time of 37.62 sec. Bertram Allen was once again amongst the winners in third place with Dino W in 37.73 sec. Belgian rider, Fabienne Daigneux-Lange with Venue D’Fees des Hazalles, and Swedish rider Angelie Von Essen con Qamaieu de Montsec, took fourth and fifth place, respectively.
In the 1.40m Big Tour C, Czech rider, Emma Augier de Moussac with Copia, won. Bertram Allen and High Valley were second and Belgian rider Jos Verlooy with Gaston Van T Steentje, third.
British rider Thomas Graham Gillespie won the Big Tour B riding Laverin de Saar. The French rider Bernard Briand riding T’Es Ok Minotais was second and the Brazilian rider Karina Johannpeter with Vanilla Di Villagana, third.
In the Big Tour, A1 y A2 there were many British winners. Harriet Nuttall riding Highland Cruiser II, and Jordan Thompson with Eclips V, were the fastest against the clock with the French rider Bernard Briand riding Tribun de la Wantz, taking third.
Beth Vernon riding Omane Des Faux; Aimee Jones with Lilly 483 and Jessica Dimmock riding Billy Tortilla, were the ‘all British’ winners of the A2.
The Medium Tour C class was held in the grass ‘David Broome’ ring. The winner of this 1.40m class was Belgian rider Alexandra Grove, in a time of 71.10 sec riding Touche Vd Drie Eiken Z. Swiss rider Laetitia Du Couëdic riding Cheyene 111, took second place just two hundredths of a second slower and Greek rider Hannah Mytilineou con Broadway took third in 72.41 sec. Portuguese rider Caio Carvalho was fourth with Ibero Van de Noordheuvel, and British rider Spencer Roe riding Chaccomo Agostini, completed the podium.
In the Medium Tour B class B, the Peruvian rider Carlos Merino with Ofelia Te Quiero won, with Hannah Mytilineou in second this time riding Companion. Venezuelan rider Gustavo Arroyo on Quarry du Coty was third.
Portuguese rider Nuno Tiago Gomes won Medium Tour A on Pantaro, second was Adrienne Dixon with Zuidam, and third was the Irish rider Sean Cubitt with Corradino.
In the Small Tour C it was a British first and second, Eleanor Hall with Dazzle II beat Theo Simpson with Alvin Only and Swedish rider Julia Dahnelius with Diva, was third.
In the remaining Amateur classes, Morrocan rider Mohamed Al Ahrach with Africa Capital Quanthara and Spanish rider Pablo Astolfi con Azzam, shared first place in the Small Tour B. This class was split and prizes doubled due to the high number of entries, over 100. In the Small Tour A , British rider Jake Ward with Falballa de Messitert was the winner.
Tomorrow competition continues here at the Sunshine Tour with a dozen classes. We continue with classes in each of the three tour categories, Small, Medium and Big. We start at 9:00 and go on into the evening to around 18:00. Tomorrow there is also a Small GP class that takes place at 11:00, on grass, in Ring 1.
