Press release VHC – The Board of Directors of the Virginia Horse Center Foundation (VHC) met on Sept. 13, 2016 to discuss several topics including budget proposals, upcoming events, fundraising initiatives, and the vote for new board member Charles ‘Chuck’ Grossman. The meeting, the first annual Board of Director’s meeting of the 2017 fiscal year, also recapped the 2016 fiscal year and the many incredible improvements the VHC have made as an organization.
Chuck Grossman, a dedicated equestrian and native Virginian, was approved for the VHC Board of Directors with a unanimous vote. After graduating from West Virginia University in 1964, Grossman went on to serve in the United States Army for six years in Germany and Vietnam. Grossman is currently the President and CEO of Valley Office Machines and Equipment, which is headquartered in Charlottesville, Virginia. He has served on the Board of Directors of Greater Charlottesville Habitat for Humanity, Southern States Co-Op of Charlottesville and was the founder and President of the Keswick Equestrian Foundation. A true Virginia horseman, Grossman and his wife Susan, breed and show hunter horses.
“We are honored to have Chuck Grossman join the VHC Board of Directors,” said VHC CEO John Nicholson. “Chuck has a wealth of knowledge about equestrian sport and has been a longtime supporter of equestrian events in the Virginia community.”
John Nicholson also led the Board in a discussion which reviewed the progress of the capital project that is in place to upgrade much of the VHC infrastructure including ring footing, roadway repair, stall repair and general maintenance. The Board also adopted a comprehensive physical master plan for the Horse Center, which will take effect in the coming years.
The VHC is looking forward to a fall that is packed full of great events including the Virginia Horse Trials FEI CIC2* and CCI2* Three-Day Event.
