Chicago Festival of the Horse Offers Three Weeks of Competition at Lamplight Equestrian Center
Wayne, IL – January 15, 2016 – Lamplight Equestrian Center’s Equifest I and II have been regular highlights of the summer show circuit. New for 2016, competitors will have even more opportunities to enjoy the beautifully landscaped, exhibitor-friendly show grounds, as a third week has been added to the schedule to create the Chicago Festival of the Horse.

The additional week will run immediately following the first two weeks of the series. Dates for the 2016 Chicago Festival of the Horse, managed by Allen Rheinheimer, will be July 27-31, Aug. 2-7 and Aug. 10-14.
With the Johnson family’s retirement from running the Traders Point Hunt Charity Horse Show at their Wild Air Farms in Zionsville, Indiana, the new week will carry on the tradition of the historic show.
„I think it’s wonderful that Traders Point can continue on,“ said Nina Moore, owner of Lamplight Equestrian Center. „Allen Rheinheimer has helped me since the day I bought Lamplight and has been a driving force in all of the improvements, from the footing to the grand prix ring. He has run Equifest since I bought Lamplight.“
She added, „Allen’s father, Stanley, helped to start Traders Point with the Johnsons, so now that the Johnsons are retiring, the show is back in the family.“
The Equifest Show Series, a USEF Premier rated show, has been the recipient of USHJA Member’s Choice Awards for two straight years, with Equifest I winning the award in 2014 and Equifest II in 2015. The USHJA Member’s Choice Awards recognize exhibitor-friendly competitions and technical excellence.

Region 2 dressage riders can also look forward to competing at Lamplight for one of the major events on their 2016 calendar. The 2016 Great American Insurance Group/United States Dressage Federation Region 2 Dressage Championships have been awarded to the facility and will be held Sept. 23-25. The Regional Championships serve as the annual goal for many competitors, and the top finishers there qualify to compete at the US Dressage Finals.
The Markel/USEF Young and Developing Horse Dressage National Championships, USEF Dressage Seat Medal Finals, and youth divisions of the U.S. Dressage Festival of Champions presented by The Dutta Corp. will be held at Lamplight Aug. 24-28.
