Last weekend (26.-28.05.2017) Alpenspan Azzuro Giovanni Govoni took the lead twice in the international starter field of the CSIO5* in Rome (Italy), while Dieter Koefler triumphed at the second Casino Grand Prix in Lassee (Lower Austria).
The “Master of Faster” Gianni Govoni and his fourteen-year-old AES mare Winn Win (Chin Chin x Wagenaar) put themselves at the top of the 57-pair strong starting field at the 5-star Nations Cup Events in Rome on Friday (26.05.2017). With a faultfree ride the two won the competition over 1.45/1.50 m and remained the only pair under 60 seconds. Also on Sundy Gianni Govoni proved his nickname right and was the fastest. In the saddle of the ten-year-old Larbraker, the current number 80 in the FEI Longines World Ranking List won the Point Race in 60.66 seconds.
Team colleague Dieter Koefler gave his best at the Casino Grand Prix in Lassee. Not everything went quite as planned for the Casino Grand Prix overall winner. After rank three in the qualification run he placed only 15th with 8 penalties on Sunday. Nevertheless he was happy about several placements. Aboard the young hanoverian gelding Sinaway he was the only fault free pair in the Youngster Jumping test for 5-year-old horses over 1.10 m. With the Holsteiner gelding Classico K he succeeded in the test for 6-year-old horses and remained without fault. Aboard Stakkata he won the standard jumping test on Sunday over 1.40 m and placed ninth with Lindbergh 2 over 1.30 m.
