A Youthful Second day!
Press Release NRHA European Affiliate Championship – Ancillary action filled day two as riders are preparing their mounts for the first NRHA European Affiliate Championship classes on Thursday. The Classic Equine NRHA Rookie Level 2 Champions were Luciano Den Hertog from The Netherlands and Gumps Smooth Step BB (Little Gump x Wimpys Pearl), a six-year- old gelding he owns. Austrian Ella Wellinger riding Red Pine Command, a 10-year- old gelding by Tuck R Command and out of Pretty As A Pine, placed second.
In the Classic Equine NRHA Rookie Level 1 class, the champions were Diana Uldrichová from the Czech Republic and her 6-year- old gelding, Got Two Luv U (Ricochet Rooster x Chic Dot Com). Austrian Lara Tauscher rode her 8-year- old gelding, Jacs Dry Smarting (Smartin x Jacs Dry O Lena), to second place.
Winning the Roleski Ranch NRHA Youth 14-18 class was Gina Maria Schumacher of Switzerland aboard ARC Guns M Oaks (Topgun Whiz x ARC Sweet Oak Chic), a 7-year- old gelding owned by Chanay Sky Management. The young Swiss rider also claimed second place honors riding Chanays Sky Management SA’s CS Eye Catchin Gun, a 5-year- old gelding by Gunners Enterprise and out of Jessie Wright On.
The Roleski Ranch NRHA Youth 13 & Under champions were Jayson Henri of France with his 11-year- old gelding Hangten Boggies Sarin (Vals Hangten Harry x Sheza Boogies). Second place went to Wiktoria Stanco from Poland riding Maciej Stanco’s Frostys Chic It, a 10-year- old gelding by Frostys Chic Olena and out of Dun Its Topnotch.
It is a truly youthful European Affiliate Championship with close to thirty young riders qualified from Austria, Belgium, France, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland and The Neteherlands. Those riders qualified for the Championships will also be vying for the NRHA Youth Team Tournament which this year counts 13 teams. Medals will be awarded to the top 10 teams and the first place team will also receive a buckle. Hats off to the NRHA France – host of the past two editions of the EAC – who contributed to the transport costs for their youth taking part in this prestigious event. Closing the day was the Fano Sp. Zo. O. NRHA $2,000-added Intermediate Non Pro. In a field of 17 entries, the win went to Belgian Tom Vandermot from Belgium aboard his Colonel WR San Jo (San Jo Freckles x Selenas Classy Smoke), a 9-year- old stallion. In second place was Polish Paula Siekanska with Sugars Smart Player (Honky Tonk Player x Sugars Doc Tari), a 10-year- old stallion she owns. The first NRHA European Affiliate Championship was held in 2002 in Bolzano, Italy. Evey two years the location changes and, for the first time, is being held in Poland.
