CM – The sliding stop is one of the most spectacular maneuvers in a reining pattern. For some it’s also the trademark move of western riding. Everybody knows the photos: a horse – a rider and lots of dust! A sliding stop is only possible with special horseshoes – sliders. Another requirement is a well trained horse and a suitable ground. The rider has to learn how to sit in a stop as well. Trainer Barbara Bayer shows how to do it in the video:
