The final day of CSI5* International Show Jumping at the GLOCK HORSE PERFORMANCE CENTER Austria saw a top-class opening this morning. Thirty-four rider-horse duos had declared their readiness to start in the GLOCK’s Perfection Tour over 1.45 m. At stake in this two-phase jumping competition were not only a prize pot of 25,000 euros but also points for the FEI Longines World Ranking.
Taking the lion’s share in both cases was the Belgian rider Gregory Wathelet. On the twelve-year-old BWP stallion Eldorado van het Vijverhof, he finished the second phase in 32.61 seconds and was therefore the fastest by a clear margin. Second-placed Austrian Max Kühner (AUT/T) was also in top form on his Holsteiner stud, Cielito Lindo 2, with the clock stopping at 36.44 seconds. The third fastest time was laid down by twice GLOCK’s 5* Grand Prix winner John Whitaker (GBR) with Lord Of Arabia, son of Cassini II, in 36.85 seconds.
