Good, better, Styrian! That seemed to be the theme of the Alpenspan Team Riders last weekend (12-15 March). Gerfried Puck and his partner Kathrin Pfingstl represented the green and orange team colours at the CSIO3*-NC event in Celje (SLO) and defied the rain with great results.
Once again, Gerfried and his ten-year old KWPN mare Bionda (by Phin Phin) were once again named to be part of Austria’s Nations Cup team. Together with his fellow countrymen Christian Rhomberg, Roland Englbrecht and Max Kühner, Gerfried finished third in the 1.60 m high Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup™ Jumping competition. Gerfried also trusted in Bionda in the Grand Prix in which he could not only obtain points for the World Ranking List but also had a chance to qualify for the European Championships 2017. The duo finished the 1.60 m class in ninth place.
With Qui Doo Gerfried was placed in Sunday’s World Ranking class (1.45 m) as well as with seven-year old J’Adore du Paly in the Youngster Tour Final (1.35 m). Aboard Elroyal (by Numero Uno x Landgraf) he won the Youngster Opening (1.30 m), Kathrin Pfingstl and her grey mare Cuela finished fourth in the CSI1* Big Tour Final (1.35 m).
In the Styrian town of Tillmitsch it was Jasmin Pirker, who was in a real winning mood with her pony Noblesse Oblige. They finished the 0.90 and 0.95 m classes with three victories and one third place! Jasmin’s Mum Gudrun had to give her best to keep up with her daugter – and keeping she did! Gudrun finished sixth in the 1.15 class with Alpenspan Nightfever and second in the 1.25 m competition with Alpenspan Scarlett. Gerfried Puck swung by too and won the 1.30 m class with Cimet 2 – Chapeau!
