VIDEO: Moments in Time – Hugo Simon and Landgräfin in London 1980

We are talking about „the good old times“ in many situations in life. Equestrian sports is no exception. Think back a couple of decades when legendary duos wrote history, became heroes and role models for some of today’s top riders. In our „Moments in Time“ series we want to honour these unforgettable riders and horses. Like Hugo Simon and Landgräfin.

Hugo and Landgräfin collected over 90 placings and victories including several triumphs in puissance competitions.

But Landgräfin was not only a very successful show jumping horse. She also had a great breeding career with offspring like Hugo Simon’s Cash and Carsten Otto-Nagels Deichgräfin.

In the video above from the 1980 London Olympia Horse Show, Hugo and Landgräfin did not win the puissance. But we will still never forget that day and that duo! By the way: the wall was 2.26 m, the triblepare 1.85 m.
