Press release Sunshine Tour – Ferenc Szentirmai from the Ukraine riding Chaccland was the winner of the Hipotels 1.50 m, Big Tour D GP today at the Sunshine Tour. The testing but fair course was designed by Italian international course designer Uliano Vezzani. Chaccland completed the round in 65.96 sec just in front of the Swiss rider La suiza Nadja Steiner whose round with Cayena took 2nd place in 66.15 sec. Well known British rider Tim Stockdale with Fleur De L’Aube took 3rd place with a great round in 68.85 sec.
In the 1.45 m, Big Tour C class, there were more British riders on the podium with a win for Yazmin Pinchen riding Unesca, 2nd place was taken by the Italian rider Pietro Borgia riding Tadi and finally, British rider Tim Gredley on Unex Handyman took 3rd.
The Big Tour B also had a British stamp on it. Harriet Nuttall riding her super horse Silver Lift had the winning time with Tim Page and Duc D’Arsoleille taking 2nd. In 3rd was the rider from Hong Kong Keneth Cheng riding Dragon.
In the 1.35 m, class British rider Matthew Sampson rising Billy Tortilla was the winner beating the Belgian rider Jerome Guery and Curby Du Seigneur into 2nd and fellow Brit Sally Hopkinson riding Cartouche III into 3rd.
In the 1.30 m, there was a Spanish 1st and 2nd from Carolina Aresu riding Xica and Jose Bono riding Iroko V/D Brouwershoeve. Finally, Harriet Nuttall was once again in the rosettes taking 3rd with Highland Cruiser II.
In the Amateur classes Kayleigh Watts was the winner of the 1.35 m, Classic Tour D riding Winde. Irish rider Derek McCoppin, celebrated St Patrick’s Day by coming 2nd with Billy Diamond and the Brazilian Caio Carvalho with Cheindira took 3rd.
Kayleigh Watts was also the winner of the 1.30 m, class with Zantos II, once again keeping an Irish rider off of the top of the podium, this time Brian Cassidy with Mega Heat Wave. In 3rd place was the Dutch rider Lian Timmermans riding China.
British rider Alice Palmer with Cindoctro was the fastest in the 1.20 m class with, once again, an Irish rider in 2nd and also in 3rd! This time it was Paul Beecher with Britt M. and Kerry Grimster with Dior.
In the Classic Tour A class, Shiekh Samir Mirdad with Mirdads Nayyyarat Al and also with Mirdads Baaab Al Ray took both 1st and 2nd. Ellie Stevenson with High Offley Busines took 3rd.
Tomorrow there are another 10 classes starting at 09:00. This level of competition will continue over the whole weekend with more than 210,000 euros of prize money on the table!
